Although I - and Sea Sweet Services - was fortunate to experience only a few hours without power and internet, many in our state weren't so lucky. Hurricane Milton, a Category 3 storm, brought more than just heavy winds and rain — over 120 tornadoes tore through Florida, some hitting uncomfortably close to home. The damage is severe, with flooding and property loss everywhere, but the real tragedy is the loss of life.
As we begin to rebuild, what stands out most is the incredible sense of community. Neighbors with chainsaws have come out to clear fallen trees, others are cleaning up the beaches, and many have been cooking meals for those still without power. It’s inspiring to see how people come together in times of crisis, and it gives me hope for the future.
Our thoughts are with our friends in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina as they continue to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We’re all in this together.
Stay strong, and thank you to everyone who has stepped up to help. The devastation is great, but the power of community is even greater.
