How Sea Sweet Services Got its Name

Writer: Jamie Lee CarmichaelJamie Lee Carmichael

My career has been supporting executives as their assistant. When they are promoted to the highest level (Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO) or even Chief Executive Officer (CEO) they call the executive office the "C-Suite" - having worked there most of my career, it never occurred to me that people didn't realize that.

So, I've been a C-Suite Executive Assistant for most of my career...I grew up in Brooklyn, NY - not far from the beach and have loved the ocean since I was a baby. By the sea is where I always want to be. Sea Sweet Services is just a play on C-Suite...with a coastal flair. My logo is SSS that is made to look like waves.

My business name is important to me. While I want it to reflect what I do, I also want it to reflect who I am. In 2007, I opened the same business when I lived in Charlotte, NC - which is nowhere near the ocean... In Charlotte, my business name was The Evelynne Grace Group. Evelynne was a combination of the two most important people in my life at the time - my Dad, whose name was Ernest Evelyn (pronounced EVE-lynn) and my sister, Lynne. Grace came from "Grace of God (I would be a success!) and Group - so it didn't sound like I was sitting in my basement alone typing away! My logo was 3 golden eggs in a nest - one for me, my sister and my dad.

Same business - different name - more services and the ocean, too! It's a good day!
