Election Day - USA

Writer: Jamie Lee CarmichaelJamie Lee Carmichael

There’s something profound about voting. It's a simple act, maybe takes a few minutes if you’re lucky—but the weight of it is something I feel deeply every time I do it. And in times like these, it’s impossible not to get emotional. There’s so much at stake; every vote counts, every voice matters, and every ballot holds a piece of our future.

This isn’t just about candidates or party lines. It's about our democracy, our right to be heard, and our responsibility to stand up and say, "I care." Voting is the one undeniable way we get to say, this is my vision for the future, this is what I believe in. Even if we disagree on what that future should look like, the act of voting is the ultimate show of faith in our country and in each other.

No one in public office has it easy. It’s a tough, thankless job where criticism flies freely, and praise is rare. But these roles are essential—they shape our laws, our communities, and the world we leave behind. Whether or not we agree with every decision or every policy, the least we can do is show up and have our say. Because if we don't, we’re leaving those decisions up to everyone else.

Voting is our civic duty. It’s our contribution to the bigger picture, our chance to help steer the ship. If we stay silent, we give up our right to complain, to expect change, or to hope for better. So if you haven't already, I hope you'll find a few minutes to go cast that ballot. Your voice, your vote—it matters. More than ever.
